MY PHILOSOPHY:
I believe children should be treated with respect and dignity.
I believe children should be nurtured and should be in a creative
learning environment. As an adult it is my duty to provide these things
and to treat each child as if they were my own.
I have been a professional childcare provider in the State of Washington since August 1, 2002; 7 years. I still enjoy providing childcare as much now as I did when I first opened. It has been a joy to me and I hope to continue providing childcare for many years to come.
This is a family home childcare. This is also learning environment. I believe children want to learn and are eager to learn. I enjoy watching these young people learn new things.
I have six children of my own. My family is part of my childcare. Our day care is family run. I feel it's important for the kids that their providers be the same caregivers all the time and not have sudden changes in their lives while attending childcare. Unlike Centers we have no turn over in people working here because it is family working here. Children like and need Security and we provide this. Center base changes kids from room to room separating them from playmates and teachers they have grown to trust and love. Although changing around is fine once they start school and are older it is hard on young children who need to feel secure. Children suffer from stress just like their parents and I think we need to minimize as much stress as possible in these young lives.
I have hundreds of professional growth hours in Early Childhood development but my degree is from Gonzaga University Bachelor of Arts 1987. I have learned through experience. I think experience is a great teacher.
She has taught me well. I have reached standards far above regular Licensing Standards.

The Childcare Provider
Although I'm not their Mother,
I care for them each day.
I cuddle, sing, and read to them,
And watch them as they play.
I see each new accomplishment,
and help them grow and learn.
I undertand their language,
and I listen with concern.
They come to me for comfort,
And I kiss away their tears.
They proudly show their work to me
I give the loudest cheers!
No, I am not their mother,
But my role is just as strong.
I nurture them and keep them safe
Though it may not be for long.
I know someday the time may come,
When we will have to part,
But I know each child I've cared for
Is forever in my heart!
